The Atlanta Chapter of NAON is volunteering at Medshare this weekend October 29th at 9AM. Please email me if you plan on joining the group kzorn@sjha.org Medshare is “dedicated to improving the environment and healthcare through the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment to underserved healthcare facilities in developing countries”. We will help with sorting and packing medical supplies for distribution around the world. It is not hard work but is very rewarding. The next meeting of the Atlanta chapter of NAON is Tuesday November 8th at 6:30PM at Emory Midtown (Crawford Long). Please plan on attending, there will not be CEUs but we would like to have an open forum about what you the members or potential members want from being a chapter of NAON. We want to hear how we can better meet your needs and help grow the chapter. A light dinner will be served.

Lastly but most importantly October 30th is Orthopaedic Nurses Day, celebrate and thanks to you and your fellow orthopaedic nurses for the hard work they do every day to strengthen our specialty.

The points accumulate throughout the year. If you earn enough points, you're eligible to serve as a delegate to Congress and receive partial funding. Did you know that you can support the NAON Foundation without spending a penny? When you're searching on the internet, try using www.goodsearch.com. When the page opens, you'll see a line "Who Do You Search For?" Type in NAON. You should only have to do it once. Every time after that, the Foundation's name should register automatically. For every search, they will donate a penny to the NAON Foundation! Simple to use and if we all use it, think how fast the pennies could add up!
